Building to the Count - Timeline of Census 2030 Events
To prepare for the 2030 Census, APA VOICE began in 2025 to build a complete count of New Yorkers. The current administration wants the 2030 census to only be available in English and is seeking to add a citizenship question. APA VOICE has sounded the alarm and is working with municipal and state-level elected officials to fight for early census funding and education. Additionally, the coalition is expanding its relationships with and training AAPI-serving and BIPOC-serving non-profits in counties with large and fast-growing AAPI populations across New York City and New York State to prepare their communities to complete the 2030 census.
